I am from Korea. I have a small world with small people who have beautiful minds. Yes, I am an elementary school teacher.. But sometimes I don't want to tell about what I do for a living. Because people have certain expectations toward teachers: teachers should be like this, do like this, must not do this, etc.....and some people just don't like teachers. Teaching is a wonderful thing. I can help people!!!!! All people need to learn!
But looking back on my teaching experience, it is a disaster. First year of my teaching, I had 45 students in my class. They were the 3rd graders. They made me crazy! Almost every day I yelled and shouted. Another 6 and half years are the same. I thought I would be more experienced as time went by. Instead, I got lost and bored at the same time.
I need something to change my life!!! I want to be a better teacher to my children and I also want to be a better person, myself... more confident and more beautiful inside. Nobody know what happens. There was a big chance to see what school system is like, how students study in the US. I couldn't miss this chance. I didn't want to miss it. I thought this might change my life.
Finally I am in the US. Precisely, Bloomfield College in NJ. I will study here for 8weeks and have a practicum for 10 weeks at elementary school near here. I am ready to get excited!!!
